The Challenger Society for Marine Science
The Challenger Society for Marine Science is a learned society for marine scientists in the UK. It is named after the ship H.M.S. Challenger, which was used in one of the most important marine studies ever conducted. The Society was founded in 1906 and over a century later brings together scientists working and researching in all areas of the marine sciences.
These pages hold the central resource for information about the Society. Information about past events, coming events, conferences, workshops, publications (the Society publishes a monthly newsletter Challenger Wave and a journal, Ocean Challenge) can all be found on this site.
