  • In the wake of SNS Challenger: Rephotographic Challenger's images collectively 36 weeks 3 days ago

    Challenger travelled the world between 1872 and 1876 taking photographs and collecting samples. Gary McLeod is doing a PhD on communicating science to the public and his specific project is to encourage members of the public to take photographs of places around the world that were pictured in the original HMS Challenger reports and you can view his site at http://www.snschallenger.org/

    Scientist and television director Dr Elizabeth White will discuss her work on the BBC series Frozen Planet at the University of East Anglia on September 4.

  • Ocean Modelling Group meeting 2012 40 weeks 16 hours ago

    The day will start promptly at 9am and end at 5.30pm, with the talks taking place in Central Lecture Theatre 4 (building number 13 on the attached map of UEA campus).    Talks will be 10 minutes in length (we'll be strict on this!).  We'll need to upload talks during the coffee and lunch breaks ahead of each block.  Those talking in the first session could speed things up by sending their talks (ideally PDF) by email to Xiaoming Zhai (Xiaoming.Zhai@uea.ac.uk) beforehand.
