    The crossword was successfully completed in October 2011, no further entries considered.

    Why not waste an hour or two and complete the Ocean Challenge Maritime Crossword from last issue's Ocean Challenge. The first person to return a correctly completed crossword to Angela Colling (postal address in the Ocean Challenge pages) will win £40 worth of book tokens.   • CSMS student travel award deadline October 15th 1 year 50 weeks ago

    Travel awards are available to assist graduate students to attend scientific conferences or participate in cruises and field work. Priority is given to graduate students who have had a paper or poster accepted for a recognised conference.

    The next deadline for applications is the 15th October 2011!

    The School of Marine Science and Technology at Newcastle University and Lloyd's Register are organising the 4th International Conference on Marine Research for Environmental Sustainability (ENSUS2011). The Conference will take place from the 12th-14th of September 2011 at the Assembly Rooms, Newcastle upon Tyne.

    Full papers are not required to be submitted, only extended abstracts but we are negotiating with the Journal of Environmental Science and Technology to see if they will produce a special focus issue on "Marine".
