New scale model of HMS Challenger

A new scale model of HMS Challenger has been constructed by G. F. Harvey of Sidmouth.  In November 2011, Geoff Harvey presented the model to Jane Stephenson, Head of National Oceanographic Library, and Mark Moore, Treasurer of Challenger Society for Marine Science.  The model of HMS Challenger is now on permanent display at the National Oceanographic Library at National Oceanography Centre Southampton.  The original figurehead for of HMS Challenger (recently repainted) stands at the entrance to the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.
