How I got into science?

Since I was a kid I was fascinated by the ocean, primarily about the marine life, but as I grew up I got interested in the physical processes and more recently I am keen to understand of how physics and biology interact.

Who inspires me?

I was originally inspired by Jacques Cousteau, like many marine scientist of my generation; he was an excellent communicator of science. Later in my career I got inspired by Henry Stommel. One of the best oceanographers of all time, he had an incredible physical intuition and an amassing humility. I been lucky to have met a lot of amazing people during my carrier, but one of the most inspirational persons I’ve ever met was Prof. Richard Garvine, he was a great influence in my early career.
